Barber shop quartet

A partial glimpse at this barber's homage to tartan, which caught my eye in passing.

I do sometimes envy hairdressers and barbers their social jobs. I think they must also have a really immediate sense of satisfaction of a job well done each time they finish a hair cut. Snip, snip, snip, blow, blow, blow; tah dah! Lovely.

Being an academic can be quite anti-social during particular periods and you have to be into delayed gratification in a major way. Type type type, delete. delete, delete, gaze in the distance, . Maybe a tah dah in a week or so!

Not that I'm complaining. I could be working in a sewage works, like my Dad.
