Cobo Alice

A class visit to Candie Gardens museum today to learn about the Victorians in Guernsey. Fascinating tales and pupils enjoyed looking up their birth dates in newspapers from the 1830s in the local papers of the day. The Comet was one of the English language papers along with The Star. This photo is of a doll made in the early 19th Century at Cobo. The doll was named Cobo Alice and is very hard as they were filled with sawdust.
