War Horse.

I'd not been looking forward to this. Not because I'm a philistine, but because neither war or horses carry much interest for me. However, the situation was such that I couldn't extradite myself and so I had vowed to keep silent and express grateful admiration where necessary.

In the event there was no need. This was fantastic in every detail. I'd urge anyone to go and see it. Theatre at its absolute best.

The standing ovation was thoroughly deserved. You'd have had to be dead inside to not recognise the utter brilliance of this production. Astonishing.
