This little advent calendar ...

.... Is in fact a little story.

About a little boy looking for the christmas star. Each day you turn one page down and a new part appears. The pages get shorter and shorter and in the end -*spoiler alert!!* - you will see an christmas tree and on top a star. And Michl (the small boy) has a collections of different stars and a lot to tell about them.....

When I was a little kid my mum bought a calendar exactly like this one for my siblings and me - each day we were very eager to be the one to turn the page down...... when we grew older we were more relaxed about this - but the calendar had to be on the wall every advent!!

The day my (then) boyfriend (now known as MrS) visited the house of my parents for the first time in advent he spotted the calendar and cried 'that's mine!!’ - it turned out he and his brothers had the very same calendar when they were little boys....

Now this calendar hangs every advent in our flat. When our kids were smaller we had to make rules whose turn it was to turn the page down - and only one at a time!!
Meanwhile they are older and wayyy more relaxed about it - but I have to put it on the wall every single year......
In fact I was already asked whether I did it this year ....... certainly I did (this morning..... but ssshhhhhhh! They will never know.....)

So yes, this is something I treasure - part of my childhood, part of MrS's childhood and now part of my kid's as well......
