Royal Swans

Lovely day with friends in Windsor and saw loads of swans by the bridge over to Eton. These are all owned by the Queen and are counted every year in a ceremony called Swan Upping which takes place every July. Stanley Spencer painted this scene and the painting is in Tate Britain. Am looking forward to seeing Swan Lake at Sadler's Wells in January, choreographed by Matthew Bourne with men dancing the swans. It'll be the 10th time I've seen it! Fantastic !
