Monday: The Blue Hydrant

Blue is Zagreb's colour - hence all fire hydrants are blue.  

Well, yesterday's referendum played out as expected with the yes vote (the question being: 'Can marriage only exist between a man and a woman?') holding out.  Around 68% voted in favour, about 34% against.  Some little pockets prevailed with the no vote but really not many.

Due to a loophole in the law though, there is no minimum threshold.  Only 36% of those eligible to vote did so, and of that 36%, 68% have now determined the direction of the law.  That can't be right.........I'd have more respect (well, not a lot more) if I genuinely felt it was the voice of the majority.

On a slightly cheerier note, thanks for your concern for Fred yesterday.  He is a bit better today, the little mite.....
