Christmas at Scotsdales
Today was another Addenbrookes day for Mr A and then we went to Harriet’s Tea Rooms in Cambridge for an early lunch. I had a toasted sandwich, something I have not had in a café for almost thirty years. Harriets have gluten-free bread, although they are a little light on puddings for coeliacs. We did some shopping and I went to CK to buy a gift for my friend. A visit to the ‘Apple’ shop, no I did not buy anything, but Mr A did. We stopped at Costa for more coffee and because I had not had pudding at lunch time I also had a piece of gluten-free Christmas cake.
Then on the way home we called at Scotsdales Garden Centre, where this picture was taken and where amongst other things I bought a small Christmas tree. Every year I declare that I am not having a tree and every year I buy one; this year it will be standing outside on the veranda. It is a living tree so it will go in the garden after Christmas; probably on Boxing Day!
Then we had a cup of tea; read no further if you are squeamish. At a table close by, a very small child was given a serviette to use while eating her cake. She promptly blew her nose on the serviette and proceeded to clean the table with it; mother and grandmother ignored her!
