Advent - Day 2

I think I probably have enough Christmas recipes now :)

Had a couple of kitchen disasters in the last two days, so please allow me to give you a couple of tips:

1 - when preparing to leave Sunday lunch to cook away nicely when you are out at church, it's a great idea to actually switch the slow-cooker on. Oops!

2- when de-scaling a kettle with vinegar (Scottish blippers don't need to do this as the water up there is much nicer and doesn't wreck your appliances), don't forget to add the vinegar AFTER you have boiled the kettle, not before. Oops again!
(The resulting over-flow not only meant the house stinks but the work top is now VERY clean as is the outside of the kettle!)

PS I bet Delia isn't such a numptie....
