Painting circles
Received this capture from my son who today guided his group of dutch tourists thro' KTM on their final day of a month hiking in Nepal. Passing by from this shop & studio where mandala's (circles) are made and sold they all halted ~ for a picture or a purchase
Their travels thro' Nepal started a month ago with the uproar of a general strike called out by maoïst political party to prevent the general elections from taking place... as all Nepalese must turn to their place of birth to bring out their vote (same rule in Greece) a lot of traffic would take place, certainly from the capital Katmandu, and thus calling off a general strike in public transport should prevent the realisation of these elections! After all the maoïst party were mistaken so it seems as elections took place; the militairs safeguarded the votingboxes and now (hand)counting of the votes still continues... the news goes now that the maoïst lost favors with their act.
Finding transport to get out from KTM to the countryside wasn't easy but done and then time and distance got my son and his group out from spell of the strikers and the uproar in and around KTM ~ being in rural Nepal they've enjoyed their walks and the views never to be found here.
