Waiting for Santa
Hired an amazing house near Brecon with my school friends and families for our annual get together. The house is set in 10 acres so we had a great walk this morning with the pups and the kids down to the river. Tobes then decided he wanted to climb a massive oak tree which was partially hollow. Luckily John followed him up there but Toby showed no fear scrambling 12ft up a tree!
This afternoon we went on a steam train on the Breacon mountain railway to Santa's grotto. Eva was absolutely petrified when we went in. She literally jumped when Santa said 'Ho, ho ho' and then just screamed at the top of her lungs - and Toby hid behind my leg and whispered something about Peppa pig!! Ah well!
Then it was back to the cottage for a slow cooked chilli feast. Eva was really unsettled and Mike ended up rocking her in the buggy downstairs till around 3am when she finally fell asleep and he fell asleep on the sofa. It was horrible. Nothing seemed to settle her, including nursing her. Maybe it was nightmarish flash backs of santa keeping her awake!! I was really disappointed to have missed an evening catching up with my friends as its not very often we all manage to get together these days.
I took loads of photos today of all of the above (except the screaming) but I chose this one as the light was just so beautiful this afternoon waiting for the train back down the mountain.
