Der erste Advent
Yesterday my first christmas song on the radio (Wizzard), today the first Advent Sunday, December and woodpecker at the feeding table.
Lovely sunny day again, went for a walk with the dogs while Angie went to the last flea market (jumble sale) of the year in Sontheim. I suspect the army surplus jumper I got was my first & last christmas present!
This afternoon, Angie & the dogs had another short walk collecting bits & pieces for the advents wreath and so we were able to light the 1st candle. In the photo it is still possible to see ice hanging on the berries, under the lit candle.
As nice as the snow & cold is, I would love to have a few warm days so that I can get the tractor started and the winter diesel in to the lines. The haylage bale we are using is the last of the 2012 crop and was clearly from the worst place on the field, alongside a track with lots of weeds and stones. May need a new bale sooner rather than later.
Wishing all a very good first working advent week - not too long now before the drive home from the office on the afternoon of 24th with Chris Rea turned on full blast, the doors of the Wolseley bending to the bass.....
