Sweat

At the start of May, I tore a bit of cartilage in my knee.
At the start of August, I had an operation which fixed this. This was successful but three months of not being able to straighten my leg had left me with a tight ligament (the IT band). I did get back to running as far as I had before the injury but I was still suffering every time I got up after sitting at my desk for more than a few minutes. But now, finally, after months of stretches and limited exercise, that seems to be gone. The final part of the cure seems to have been not doing any exercise for a fortnight.

So this was me after a really nice run today. Bright, clear day, no pain, perfect!
Mind you, it was hard work... I need to get my fitness back!
