Food thievery

Disclaimer: Katie is not actually stealing these egg tarts

Our kitchen of twelve has a little issue with a little food thieves at the moment. No one knows who it is, but it is bloody annoying is all I can say!

So far the things that have been stolen are:-
Katie
- Five out of seven slices of burnt cooked pizza left on the side to pick up on her way out

Clare
- A few bites from a pastry pizza left in the fridge

Andy
- One chocolate éclair of two from the fridge

Owen
- One can of coke from the fridge

Mike
- Unspecified amount of Marmite, from his cupboard

Myself
- One cooked sausage out of four
- Unspecified amount of butter
- Unspecified amount of tapenade

Beth
- One cooked sausage out of three
- A sweet potato omelette

So, with that comes the realisation that only five people have had nothing stolen. One is a vegetarian and so probably wouldn’t be stealing sausages etc. The others? Well, we don’t know because we never see them cook, let alone eat.

Since the sign that Katie is so wickedly posing against has gone up, well, things have improved…slightly. Maybe it is the guilt every time they read it, or maybe we’re just not leaving enough cooked food in the fridge for their liking. Who knows? But anyways, those tarts that Katie is lifting from the fridge…they’re Andy’s, who came in as I was taking the photograph. It did look like we had eaten them though, as we managed to put them back on the wrong fridge shelf effectively losing them! Luckily Andy was there to find them again as we were still in the room so we didn’t look too guilty…

So today, as ever, is brutally long…and when you are given some ridiculously hard work to do at the end of the day, the best response for this is most definitely to have a glass of wine or two and work on it with a friend. Which is exactly what Katie and I did. And I have to say, that ridiculously hard worksheet flew by!

Even though the whole kitchen thieving is really rather annoying, I am so glad to have to kitchen I have, as although some of us had never met before and some of us were old friends…we have all gelled as a group really well. The people we see anyhows!
