Matilda

Emotional day, good & bad:
One of the many good aspects of today was that Ollie told me that it was the first day in a while that my face didn't look grey. I'm feeling much better without it looking grey, thank goodness!
My sister woke up more poorly than yesterday so she couldn't do much, so it was fortunate that Ollie was here to take my Dad & Nephew to the West Ham game. My Mum & I did some shopping & stopped for a little afternoon tea but she couldn't walk very much because her hip was playing up.
GFC lost but West Ham won 3-0 against Fulham so I was thrilled that my Dad got to witness his home team win in the last ever game he will ever see, live, present in his home town... Plus he was able to show his Grandson where he used to live & go to school & tell his stories of when both of these places were bombed during the Blitz...
Very very emotional day, knowing that this is the last family trip to London that we will do altogether, as my Dad is not well enough to do very much anymore & his condition is deteriorating quicker & quicker. My mum found it very hard to get around too.
Anyhow, back to the smiles of today: Ollie & I were lucky enough to see Matilda the Musical, tonight, which blew us away & is up there as one of our favourite musicals, on a par with Billy Elliot, maybe even beating it!
Had a cry watching that too & quickly wiped them away while sharing a 20-inch pizza at Home Slice in Neal's Yard, another excellent Trip-advisor find of Ollie's. Best pizza we've had but quite unusual serving up... Paper plates & no cutlery, sipping a glass of bubbly/pint of beer!
Awesome end to the day & I think back to earlier, when my Dad got back from the footy & made me believe, though that's not difficult to do to gullible me, that WH lost 3-0 for the whole of our conversation.
So he still remembers the fantastic wit he has. Oh, & one more positive, my Mother has admitted that she is won over by the Kindle we gave her for her bday, even though she admitted that she was disappointed to be given 'technology' for her bday, haha!
