The good thing about working full time, is that when days like "Black Friday" come round, you know you will not have even a remote hope of getting a bargain, or come to think of it ........a broken limb.
So, to make sure we could beat the crowds today, we were in Manchester city centre before 9am. I don't know why I agreed to sacrificing a decent lie in , but there you go ! Having made the supreme effort , I was rather put out to see that most shops didnt open until ten am ........... and by that time more people had arrived , Ugh !
Anyway, we battled through, with only a small list of items to purchase we called it a day at lunch time. Recharged our batteries with a nice juicy hog roast sandwich from one of the Christmas market vendors and headed back to the car .
We headed out to the Northern part of the city, to the huge Wing Yip Chinese supermarket. We are trying to emulate some of the cuisine we had on holiday, after a week back in work I dont even recall having a holiday but it was all too much for me and I wandered off to watch the live crabs and check out the beer . So, apart from some noodles and a crispy duck, we now own a new pet ...........a lucky cat . It is driving me mad already, and the batteries may have to be extracted pronto.
