What a day

I heard about the helicopter crash first thing this morning. Although the Clutha Vaults was a pub I have never been in I do often pass it when I cycle into the city.

I was in the city today for my interview as a Glasgow 2014 volunteer. I think I gave a good account of my skills and qualities so I just have to wait until early next year to find out if I have been selected.

The afternoon was spent at the velodrome. Before the start of racing we held a one minute silence for those affected by the crash.

It is amazing how close you get to the riders. The photo show one of the German rider, Robert Kanter. He later received an official warning for causing a crash in the Keiran where get took the wheel of John Paul who was taken from the track on a stretcher.

Oh and Albion Rovers beat Motherwell in the Scottish Cup.
