Food For Me, Bikes For Him!

Today me and hubby headed up to the NEC in Birmingham. Me, for the BBC Good Food Show and him for the Motorcycle Show. In an ideal world, we would have spent the morning in the motorcycle show and the afternoon in the good food show but that would've meant spending £100 on 2 tickets for each show so common sense had to prevail!

The BBC Good Food Show was really good; so many yummy delights to sample and drool over and lots of funky shopping trolleys to negotiate amongst the crowds. Us ladies need somewhere to put all the goodies we buy!! My daughters have instructed me that said funky shopping trolley is not ever to be seen when I am shopping with them!! You know the type I mean...the ones you see old ladies pulling behind them on 2 wheels!! I think it looks quite fetching myself and it saves a lot of bag carrying!

Anyway, back to the good food show; I got to see quite a few celebrity chefs too; Lisa Faulkner, Paul Rankin, Mary Berry and my favourite; the gorgeous Paul Hollywood. I would've blipped a photo of Mary and. Paul but the quality if the pics weren't too good as I was sat too far away from the stage. They were very entertaining none the less and Mr Hollywood is just as handsome in real life as he is on the telly!

I thought I would blip this shot of Kim Wilson who came 3rd in this years Great British Bake Off. As you can see, she was having great fun in her baking demonstration.

Hubby throughly enjoyed his time at the Bike show too, particularly the odd scantily clad lady or two draping themselves over various bikes! After over 17 years he has decided to become a biker again so he was in his element perusing all the bikes, equipment and gear on display. He bought himself a snazzy helmet and t shirt and then when we got home he won an ebay bid on the bike he wanted. So he is one happy bunny! He just needs to go all the way to Lincolnshire next week to get it!!

Once we had finished at the NEC we headed into central Birmingham to go to the christmas market at Victoria Square. It certainly was very typical of a German Christmas market and it took me right back to the time I spent working in Stuttgart back in 1990. Lots and lots of stalls to peruse and lots and lots of German foods and drink to sample. I particularly enjoyed the warm Gluwien!

Sadly, the market was rammed with folk and at some points you just couldn't move for people, so much so, that we decided not to stay too long and after an hour, headed home. A very good day all in all though.
