Golden
This is a golden eagle I photographed along the Mississippi River in Wabasha, Minnesota. There are at least 80 golden eagles using the coulees and bluffs along the Mississippi River from Red Wing, Minnesota LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
This majestic eagle is aptly named for its golden- brown plumage, with head and nape feathers a slightly lighter, gold color. Unlike bald eagles they are not fish eaters. They prey on wild turkeys, deer, rabbits, and birds.
