After a day spent fielding calls from estate agents, solicitors and surveyors, I spend late afternoon and early evening at Kew Gardens.

With hardly any of the glasshouses open, there is a pre Christmas light show and winter market in the Garden.

Trees are illuminated, along the mile long path, water features abound and glasshouses hum with light, both outside and in.
