Poles apart

Another Friday, another sunset - almost. This is a sculpture called Sea Beams by Donald Urquhart on the seafront at Dysart. Sea Beams is a grouping of nine square section oak beams that vary in height between seven and nine meters and are painted in a variety of colours to reflect the varying moods of the Forth. It was commissioned as part of a project to link the Fife Coastal Path with a series of new artworks and public spaces that drew their inspiration from the coastal landscape and characteristics of the site.

I was interested in the shadows it created as the sun dropped lower in the sky. The seagull was only interested in having somewhere to sit.

Usually I'd link the artist to their web page, but in this instance there seems to be a few Donald Urquharts out there so, rather than send you off on the wrong track, I'll leave it up to you to search out the right one. The exercise will do you good.
