Guimar pyramids

I didn't realise that there are pyramids in Tenerife until this holiday. Here's what we learned at a very interesting museum:

Norwegian ethnographer, Thor Heyerdahl concluded that these pyramids were probably used for sacred rituals and that they have astronomical orientations. He also believed that they formed a transatlantic link between the ancient Egyptian pyramids and those of the Maya in America.
