Late Afternoon Along The Riverside.

After another overcast day, I decided to walk part of the way home by the river Cam. This area used to be a favourite spot for fishermen, but the boats have taken up a lot of the available space. Quite busy with walkers and cyclists all seeming to be hurrying home out of the cold. Coming towards me the fellow with the bags on his handlebars had probably been to the supermarket, easily reached from here and saves riding on the main road, and in the other direction, the path leads towards Chesterton area. Or maybe he was going to drop into the Fort St George, on the right, for a pint of ale and a warm up by an open fire in the inglenook. I did enjoy my brisk walk across Midsummer Common, but wanted to get home for a cup of tea !
