Bauble Barn!

I had breakfast out this morning wih two good friends at Doddington Hall. We also paid our traditional visit to the Bauble Barn, a wonderful adventure into a land of kitsch and sparkle.

I was quite disappointed this year to find that the overall effect is quite tasteful and that all the light up, lurid-coloured pug dog baubles and sparkly royal family ornaments seem to have been left in the stock room. Maybe they are just not fashionable this year.

My tree is an annual testament to bad taste and involves just throwing on all the decorations I have owned for years all over the branches willy nilly until the overall effect feels just right so the tasteful, colour co-ordinated displays did not tempt me. I'm more of a stars-made-out-of-35-year-old-paper-straws kind of girl.

I did, however, have a lovely chat with a friend I haven't seen for over a year, who was working in the Bauble Barn, so the day is definitely a good one.
