Reflection

Tonight our church's worship and prayer evening used a Taize style which was much more contemplative and reflective. As a visual point of reference we had this very simple cross and one small candle on the table in front of us. Later we lit many more from this (but I failed to get another photo afterwards!).

As I looked at what the camera has done with this subject I realised that it couldn't cope with looking directly at the flame, but it worked well for the reflections. I guess that is what it would be like if we could see God. Impossible to cope with, but we can see the reflections of his glory in those around and in the creation too. Even when there is a lot of darkness. Or maybe because there is a lot of darkness.
