Fab day
What a lovely day. Early start into London, train then tube to Green Park, then a walk across the park to Buckingham Palace. Various very smartly dressed people outside posing for photos - afterwards we found some were being knighted today. Then walked down to St James's Palace and after a short wait outside we were taken inside - oh my - amazing place! Bek was being awarded her Gold Duke of Edinburgh certificate in Queen Anne's room which was so grand. A few formalities then Prince Philip came round and spoke to all the kids - he certainly still has his sense of humour!!!
After the ceremony we walked down to the river - near the London Eye were loads of little Christmas stalls and we felt it may be considered rude if we did not try the mulled wine - good choice! Then walked along to St Paul's then back via Covent Garden to Leicester Square then along Regents Street and Oxford Street to see the Christmas decorations. May have had to have a little retail therapy on route.
Back home. Knackered. In bed.
