Soaring

This morning was dull, damp and foggy and the prospect of a decent outdoor blip looked unlikely - and then.....

Thousands of starlings appeared over and around our home, soaring, swooping, circling, changing direction, landing on the trees and then repeating the sequence several times.

The sight was truly amazing as was the sound of their wings as they flew thr0ugh the sky.

Although individual starlings aren't the most colourful and beautiful birds, there is something quite spectacular when they are in a murmuration as vast as this.
