Days of cheating. The feeling of being cheated everywhere, by the fruit seller, by the rikshaw driver, at the grocery store. The sports of cheating a westerner, sweet revenge for being poor, maybe, or just the usual greediness,- the man at the gas station was even bribing about it… Being cheated by people you trust. Watching the sadness of the game, the power politics, the shrinking inside, the cruelty of cheats with a smile. There is a norwegian saying ”The thief thinks everyone else is stealing”. The suspicions and tensions in the body when taking something that is not given freely. You can cheat everyone, but not yourself. The body remembers.

Better to be cheated than to cheat, says Buddha. Letting trust expand, the body relax. Nothing important can be taken away anyway, the core is untouched. Taking the risk of being a fool. Being cheated again end again. Letting them laugh, leaving the heart open anyway, letting trust be impersonal, a quality of being…
