Still a Contender

Roger has still got it! He can still chase away his rivals when he wants those peanuts. He isn't "King of the Deck" the way he used to be. Now there are bands of young jays who chase and scold and share ownership of the peanuts and the deck territory. I've seen Roger in disputes with them and he doesn't always win. After all. He is getting a bit long in the tooth, if he had teeth. ;-) But he is still spunky and strong. He has been coming to the deck for over five years. Touch little contender. Bigger view. By the way, you might notice that Roger now only has his faded green band. The red one fell off a month or two ago. Here is Roger in a similar pose about a year ago. He still had his red band.

Helena's sister Lynda arrives soon for the holiday weekend. I'll still be blipping but may not get too much done in the way of making comments. I wish all of you who are having a holiday tomorrow, the best! And those who aren't, it wouldn't hurt to use the day to think about all the things you are thankful for.
