Ready For My Close Up

First test of my birthday present from my Mum and Dad – a new flash gun (Yongnuo 560-ii) to be exact.

I’ve read up on a few on camera techniques including bouncing off the ceiling and walls. I thought I would get it a thorough testing this evening with my glamorous model – Joe the Monkey. He was the ultimate professional with no diva moments at all!

Below are the settings used, mainly for my own reference at a later time...

Top row – left to right
No Flash, natural light
Pop-up flash
Direct flashgun wide zoom (24mm) - 1/128 Power
Direct flashgun wide zoom (24mm) with diffuser - 1/128 Power

Second row – left to right
Ceiling Bounce 24mm - 1/8 Power
Ceiling Bounce 24mm with bounce card - 1/16 Power
Ceiling Bounce 105mm - 1/4 Power
Ceiling Bounce 105mm with bounce card - 1/8 Power

Third row – left to right
Side Bounce 24mm - 1/8 Power
Side Bounce 24mm with bounce card - 1/16 Power
Side Bounce 105mm - 1/4 Power
Side Bounce 105mm with bounce card - 1/8 Power

Bottom row – left to right
