Hidden portal to the inner sanctum
Yes, you may well laugh, I know it's Green Park Underground pedestrian walkway, but to me it's my new route into central London and majorly important.
As you may know, I don't really do escalators (vertigo) and occasionally have problems being 30 metres below ground level in a tunnel on my own (who doesn't).
My route into town had for a while been via Piccadilly Circus Tube (two short escalators, which, if I hung on tight and too slow breaths, was just about OK), Regents Park (lift, no problemo), or Euston. However I became less certain of the Piccadilly moving staircase lately and had favoured other, longer routes.
Green Park has a step free route from the Jubilee Line, but I'd never tried it until today. A good job I was feeling OK in confined spaces because it took three lifts and a walk of around half a mile (I exaggerate) to get to the surface. I felt like Jules Verne in reverse when I got out.
Great to know I have a new route in and out of town though!
