Vicars' Close, Wells, Somerset

The oldest continuously inhabited medieval street in Europe. Building started in 1348 to provide dwellings for the men of the choir.

I have utilised the retro setting on my camera for this one. We had to hang around a bit to wait for the little cobbled street to be free of cars and people. The two girls running, if you can see them, were late for a hockey match apparently.

Wells Cathedral is the most extraordinary structure, a stunning facade. We went on the guided tour and it was fascinating. I was going to upload the shot of the exterior of the cathedral but this one just beat it to blip at the last moment.

We have taken it easy a bit today due to aches and pains brought on by the last few days of clambering up and down steep slopes.
