Attempting an ol' school technique.
Perusing the many 100's of groups on Flickr I came across a group called "Multiple Exposure." Upon further investigation, and hints from a couple of web sites/blogs, I decided to give it a try.
I thought an "x-ray" style double exposure would be cool, and I know there are lots of stuffed birds and full skeletons in our museum. I found a skeleton and intact pigeon and set about to give it a go.
This is not easy. My D300 times out after 30 sec. The skeleton and stuffy are not fixed in identical positions, and I had to choose between a light vs dark background. Of the many (~35) attempts this came out the best. Once I caught on to the necessary workflow for capturing both I spent most of my time trying to line up the beaks and eye ball/socket. This was impossible, and thus the eye is a little misaligned in this one.
I also realize that you can do this in PS by overlaying the images and changing one image to "screen." I tried this, and it doesn't look much different, but I wanted to give the pre-PS technique my full effort.
I may try this again, but I think what I really want to try is using the multiple exposure setting at a basketball game "T" and I are attending tomorrow night. I have visions of a 5-7 image human/ball trail to a slam dunk. Stay tuned...
