giving it some stick

Em very proudly presented me with this when I picked her up from nursery today:

"This is a very special talking stick that I made for my family. After morning meeting we gather in a circle and pass the stick around. Whoever is holding the stick is allowed to talk. The origin of the talking stick comes from the Over-Hill Cherokee People. The wood, feathers and beads are all symbolic of the tribe. Happy Thanksgiving"

Tonight we will mostly be taking shifts to join her nibs in her room. Croup has struck again and we'll be boiling the kettle in the room to keep her comfortable. A trip to the Doctors in the morning.
