Puddle with Leaves/Tree

Pentax K1000, Ilford HP5+, Double exposure at ISO 400

A and S got in very early this morning; I heard the door shut at 3.40am! M and I slept late, but we were up before them and got started on breakfast. S came down looking a little ashen as we were serving it up, but he managed a cooked breakfast anyhow. We drank lots of coffee and had a very chilled out morning. Later, M drove me out to the post office to pick up my new lens that had arrived last week when I wasn’t home. I’m excited to use it! It’s a Miranda 35-70mm MC Macro lens; it looked very pretty when I opened it and almost brand new.

A and S were planning to head off home for a nap on the sofa, so M and I left them to lock up the house and we drove out to Insch so that M could inspect one of the hot tubs he installed there a couple of years ago. He tightened up the bands and I took a few photos for his website; it must be the most perfectly-placed hot tub he’d ever installed. It sits on its own balcony and looks out over Bennachie, in the grounds of a beautifully converted farm steading. It would be my ideal home… I didn’t want to leave!

On our way back into town we decided to stop off at the Green for some sandwiches from Contour. We demolished them sitting in the car at the beach, then braved the cold for a very quick walk along the front. The light goes so quickly these days, it’s not long until the shortest day I suppose (which is always my birthday)! On our way home we stopped off for a food shop, then settled down to watch Predators on the TV with a bottle of red wine. Mmmm! Two guilty pleasures at once: bad films and good booze.
