THE VILLAGE CHURCH
Mr.MS7 went to Chelmsford to play golf with two friends. I walked the dogs. I then raked the leaves up and did some housework
In the afternoon we took the dogs for a walk. We cut through the churchyard, and I took my blip.
There has been a church on this site since 1199 but it fell in to disrepair and in 1834 it was shut up, and finally pulled down. It was rebuilt in 1840 at a cost of £1,300. The foundation stone was laid by The Earl of Essex. The various coins of Queen Victoria were placed beneath the stone.
