back
Due to the propensity for my current rear wheel to pop its spokes I felt it worth swapping the 23 on the back with the 25 on the front to give the back a little bit more bounce. It should not be necessary to have to take off the big ring in order to be able to shift the rear mech band downwards an inch to give the tyre sufficient room to rotate, but such is the way of my idiotic frame. I rarely used the big ring even when my front mech moved sufficiently to allow this, so I shall cope without it. It took barely forty minutes to find sufficient washers to enable the bolts to be tightened with one fewer chainrings. Had I planned this properly I'd have found a chainguard to stick in the place of the big ring, though that can wait.
