Monks' Path, Lapley

An ancient path linking the former Lapley and White Ladies Priories in Staffordshire. This lovely avenue of trees sits on the edge of an arable field near the Shropshire Union Canal. It seems quite incongruous for the avenue to be here, with no logic to its start and end points. Perhaps it was originally much longer.

Just as the sun rose it appeared through between the horison and a blanket of cloud above. Conservatively, the sun shone for about 5 minutes before it passed behind the clouds above.
