The beholder's eye

So that's where the cabbages went!

Around our science department, on the outside we have a series of raised beds. These are used for gardening club, and to grow useful things for us to use for the science curriculum.
When we came back to school in september these were quickly planted up with winter cabbages. At the time I noticed a Small white Pieris rapae butterfly lurking about them with intent. Recently the cabbages have become little other than stalks, and today I realised why.......the little toad must have laid eggs all over them...There were at least 10 of these larvae munching away at lunch time today, despite it only being about 7 degrees at best!
So, today's blip is a Small white larva, not something you expect to see at the end of November.
