Fasset hound

Sarah has had a sore back so has been at home recovering and taking gentle walks and anti-inflammatories. When I got home today, I found her looking in boxes which she had packed up when she left for her year in Japan. She was having fun rediscovering her possessions. The boxes turned out to contain a lot of my books, which had made their way upstairs over the years and which were now making their way downstairs again to my study so that I could rediscover them.

Another 'blast from the past' is this jumper, which I knitted from a Kaffe Fasset book, out of odds and ends of wool. This was back in the days before I had children, dogs or a garden to look after. We had returned home after taking a few months out of work to go on a Himalayan expedition and money was tight. We lived in a small house filled with charity shop furniture (and bedside tables made from covered cardboard boxes) and kept warm by burning driftwood from the beach. In the evenings, we played Scrabble, did jigsaw puzzles, sewed and knitted. Happy days...
