The gods Apollo and Zeus
Mount Nemrut or Nemrut Dağ is a 2,134 m high mountain in southeastern Turkey. It is the site where was built the mausoleum of Antiochus I (69–34 B.C.), who reigned over Commagene, a kingdom founded north of Syria and the Euphrates after the breakup of Alexander's empire, and it is one of the most ambitious constructions of the Hellenistic period. Inscriptions on the statues identify as being: the god Apollo; the goddess Tyche of Commagene; the god Zeus; Antiochos himself and the god Heracles.
Stunning at sunset.
After taking few shots I just wanted to sit and marvel at the shades and colors changing with the sun setting and the breathtaking view surrounding the site.
