The marks of time

Poetry book, enameled metal Chinese box.

PATINA is today's DDW challenge topic.

Two items much in use, marked by time and oxidized by air.

The Chinese box belonged to my mother. I don't know how old it is or whether it has other than sentimental value, but I remember it from my childhood and still use it.

"A Little Treasury of Great Poetry" was given to me when I was nine and remains my favorite poetry book. It introduced me to Shakespeare, Donne, Blake, Wordsworth, and gems such as this:

Sir, I admit your general rule,
