Consecrated ground

Went for a wander round the cathedral graveyard at lunchtime.

No one there but me, a blackbird, some gargoyles and the residents.


Most of the gravestones are from the past 200 years but as St Magnus cathedral dates from the 12th century there must be a lot of layers of worthy citizens under foot.


Wouldn't it be great to hear the stories they have to tell?
