Not very real butterfly

Working today so there was no opportunity to take any outdoor photographs and I didn't feel like venturing out in the cold and the dark when I finally got home. I therefore thought I would experiment with the macro lens and took a series of photographs of this butterfly place decoration. I was quite pleased with the result but my harshest domestic critic told me that he did not think the subject matter was interesting enough for a macro shot. He suggested one of his art deco statues which I politely declined. So here is the butterfly shot with a 50mm instead.
This was one of our place decorations last Christmas, when I entertained 12 people for a week. During that time the fridge broke down, followed by the freezer. The dog ate the turkey left overs on Boxing day because, after all, it was in the atrium, and the drains blocked. Having said that, I was so hysterical by this point that we all had a great time. This year I am going away for Christmas.
