A view from Jeanneb

All the fun of the fair

A beautifully bright morning so we didn't want to spend too much time in the shops (apart from spending our M&S vouchers of course) so we strolled back though the Christmas markets and stalls. Much quieter than yesterday so we could actually see what was on them including these wonderfully scented fruit and spice decorations.

There wasn't a queue either for the big wheel today but we decided to give it a miss but did manage a hot mulled cider to help us on our way.

We walked up to the Royal Mile and into St Giles Cathedral which I seem to have missed on previous visits, a cup of tea and a look around a few of the more touristy shops (some of us have to buy our new grandchild a Scotland rugby shirt!) and headed back down to Princes Street as the blue sky disappeared and the Christmas lights were coming on.

No visit to Edinburgh is complete without a visit to Jenners, especially at Christmas when a view of the huge Christmas tree in the centre of the store is a must. A few years ago they had an artificial tree with huge baubles but I'm pleased to say they have reverted to a simply decorated real tree on our last few Christmas visits. (Don't dislike artificial trees I have one myself but it wasn't quite right here.)
