ST MARY THE VIRGIN, AYLESBURY
This is a lovely church though it was much modernised by the Victorians and much of the old place of worship was wiped from the face of the earth.
They did however retain a side chapel which has a crypt with saxon brickwork which has been dated to 571AD. The rest of it is mainly Victorian including the majority of the windows.
I believe that I have read that Aylesbury was once a Minster in medieval times...
Cool damp day .. spent most of the day supervising Peter & his packing...oh dear so much stuff, so little space.
Hope everyone had a good weekend
