Tree down
I had to fell a grey alder today. It had keeled over more than 45 degrees and was tipping up a small garden shed.
The soft white heart of the Grey Alder does not bleed like it's common cousin.
It went without objection - transformed from a tangible growing presence into utilitarian firewood in a matter of minutes.
I stacked it respectfully and it was kissed farewell by the low sun.
