Head banger

I have been enjoying life from my sofa for most of today - catching up on Strictly, Dr Who and Borgen. I sprang into action this afternoon and went over to a hide that promised deer and birds. It's been a bit of a grey day so the light wasn't brilliant. I sat and waited for about an hour and was treated to sights of pheasants, partridges, robins, blue tits, sparrows and then this Great Spotted Woodpecker appeared. I managed to get a few shots and then as dusk was settling in the deer arrived. It was lovely watching them all pottering about oblivious to my presence.
