First snow

Last night there was a sprinkling of snow.
Today started sunny but it was real "cold front" weather with gusty wind, dark clouds and heavy if brief showers of snow. It all adds up to a mere centimetre of snow but because the ground (and lake) is frozen the snow is just sitting there, showing no sign of melting at all.
Here you see the stream that feeds the lake. Where there's current the ice hasn't formed and where the stream enters the ice is rather thin and wet so the snow there has melted.
Just now the ice is too thin for skating or skiing over but later in the year it's places like this you have to watch out for when you are on the ice.
