One More Time, London

Headed down to London early in the morning, taking advantage of my free Friday! My mom also had a relatively free day, so we did a couple things.
First we hit the Natural History Museum for one of the best photography exhibitions I've seen, Wildlife Photographer of the Year. The photos were splendid but it was mainly the way they were presented which was outstanding! Beautiful shots of jaguars fighting, closeups of turtles and crocodiles and a very powerful portfolio on the black market for ivory, which I found particularly interesting for implying the blame is on religion. Obviously, because it encompasses the catholic, buddhist and muslim markets, the topic has largely been avoided... Photo 31 brings up a feeling of disgust I can't help.

After chilling for a couple hours by myself, we met with my mom's friend Andrew in Waterstones, at a top floor restaurant. He had some really helpful insights into career stuff, seeing as he's overseeing a lot of projects which are really similar to what I was doing in Uganda!
Finally, went to see Gravity. The film had been hyped up a lot, and if anything it surpassed the hype for me. I got totally engrossed in the emotions the film was conveying, the feelings of solitude and helplessness particularly. Of course I recommend it, but only if you can fall into the movie properly. It's visually stunning as well, but its the type of film you should watch only if you have the time to dedicate to it full-heartedly.
After that, we had dinner at a vegetarian Indian restaurant, for a change.

Oh, and the photo was taken at the NHM. Sun was shining through the windows, and there's my mom walking down the stairs waving. Stupidly overexposed the top left corner, should have been more careful...
