'Bella & Bun Bun'

Bun Bun is the resident bunny in Bella's classroom. All of the kids take it in turns to Bring her home for the weekends when nobody is at school and this is our weekend. She's certainly a big bunny, but a good house guest. No noise, easy to care for, but does malt and leave hair all over your clothes when you pick her up. Here Bella is cleaning out her cage and putting some fresh hay in there for some soft bedding.

This morning we went and visited my Nana in a respite home while Mum is away in Bali. She was her usual perky self, but doesn't think she's ready for that sort of place yet, which I agree with. She said she's missing Mum terribly and feels like it's been weeks since she saw her, even though it's only been 6 days so far. The respite home was a pretty sterile place with lots of mainly old women just sitting in chairs looking blankly into space. Nan needs company an someone to talk to, so I'm really glad we were able to visit her today. Also my Uncle (Mum's brother) and Aunty turned up to to take her out for lunch today which was nice of them. Just as we were leaving another cousin of mine turned up with her boyfriend too. She said they will come back and visit during the week when she wasn't so busy.

Even though the place was very clean and he staff seemed very friendly, most of the residents looked like they were just waiting around for the end to come. Sad to see people like this, although we did manage to strike up quite a nice conversation with a nice lady called Margaret who was telling us that last week was her 90th birthday and her family arranged her birthday party down at the beach to celebrate it together. Her youngest son also turned up to take his mum out to lunch today.

The weather has been fairly ordinary today, with rain on and off all day, so it has been an indoors day apart from that.

Kids are now sitting down watching an episode of Ninjago before having some dinner which I can smell now. Tonight is fish and vegetable night for us, and we bought a mix of 4 types of fish to have.

Mmmmm, fresh vegies have just hit the table, better run and get into it.
